Soit les syndicats des employés d’Air Mauritius acceptent d’annuler leurs accords passés (Memorandum of Understanding) et la suppression des emplois sera inférieure à la moitié du personnel, soit le personnel sera réduit de 50 %, à tous les niveaux. Tel est l’ultimatum lancé par les administrateurs de la compagnie nationale d’aviation aux huit syndicats de MK.

Les administrateurs les en ont informés, lors d’une réunion, mardi 19 mai, leur donnant jusqu’à aujourd’hui midi pour faire leurs propositions.

Ce à quoi les syndicats se refusent. Dans une lettre, l’Air Mauritius Staff Association (AMSA), réclame une réunion avec le ministre du Travail, Soodesh Callichurn, vers le 15 juin : ''The Actual Executive Committee of AMSA has no legal and moral rights to bind their members and non-members by conceding under duress or otherwise on any of the two instructions given above by the administrators. 

Sir, we make an appeal that a meeting be fixed with you on or around the 15th June 2020. You will conquer with us that we cannot properly respond to the above Ultimatum without calling a Special General Meeting as stipulated in our Rules and Regulations, when it comes to taking major decisions.”
