Alan Ganoo took the heat in parliament on Monday over the death of 27-year-old Yannick Permal in an accident involving the tramway at the Pope Hennessey intersection in Beau Bassin. However, the minister of land transport and light rail told parliament that it was not the government’s decision to put the Metro Express at ground level in the area that was to blame, arguing that plans for the previous Métro Léger project proposed by the Labour government did so too. The trouble is that, none of this seems to be true. And Weekly publishes the documents to prove it.
