It is not a mere coincidence that against the backdrop of US-China war trade that an unprecedented demonstration of such magnitude flared up in Hong Kong, once reckoned to be a haven of peace and stability. There is no need to go to a crystal ball for any political pundit to see the hands of dark occult forces pulling puppet strings behind the curtain. They have initially failed with their 2014 umbrella movement but this time, they use the shield of extradition bill to hide their real intention to destabilize China. This is a war by proxy. Acts of violence get worse and bloodier everyday. This is not democracy when they paralysed the airport for two days and cripple the economy bringing it to its knees. We are having affair with anarchists worse than the Yellow velvets.

Which country in the world would have tolerated that they had taken the Legislative House by storm and painted degrading graffitis on its walls? Or more sacrilegious still when they had burnt the Chinese flag or torn it to pieces? No country can accept such insult against its sovereignty and dignity. Side by side with such atrocious ignominy the demonstrators wave the American flag outside in the streets amid hurlyburly. These demonstrators do not value the struggle of their ancestors to liberate the land from colonial yoke and maybe they want to go back to the days of “Dogs and Chinese not allowed”.

The demonstrators adopt terrorist tactics. There is no shadow of doubt that this demonstration is foreign- sponsored rioting, destruction and sabotage. The big question is how can they survive financially for almost 8 weeks. Where do they get the necessary fund to take to the streets for? Where have they got the laser-torches to clash with the police? Why have some leaders met secretly in a foreign embassy some weeks ago? What have they concocted? Fake news is posted on social media to fan the discontent to ruin Hong Kong further and by extension China.

The country that Milton Friedman proudly showcased as a shining example of capitalism in his Free to Choose PBS series will be gone and when it goes we will all bear witness to one of the greatest tragedies in human history. One thing for sure: not one inch of Hong Kong belongs to anyone but China. The days when foreign powers could dictate their will on China are long gone. Who can forget the humiliation, shame and disgrace brought to China during the Opium Wars. Do these brats know past history? Do they want to turn South East Asia into a powder trail as in Latin America or Middle East?

China’s patience is running out. Simultaneously, it is buying time. Within a few hours, it can restore law and order in the country but it will not fall into the trap. Beware of the dragon whisking its tail.
