It is more than a fortnight since the Malaysian aircraft vanished somewhere in this world. All the 239 people on board are presumed dead. We can only convey to all their loved ones our deep sense of grief. There are international efforts ongoing in order to know what happened to the aircraft. Uncertainty about its fate is unbearable. Unfortunately, the help of our local talent has not yet been enlisted. Everyone knows that we have the ‘voyants’ who tell people their future. As far as I recollect they can also look back as anyone who reads the future must be aware of the past. Our ‘voyants’ who are commonly known as ‘doktere sans souliers’ are in a unique position to know more than any Edward Snowden. They should have been contacted by the Malaysian authorities the moment contact was lost with the plane. The whole world would have instantly known where the aircraft was and what happened to it.

I have an unshakeable conviction that our shoeless doctors would have cracked the mystery by now or even earlier…unless the Martians had managed to vapourise or de-materialise the aircraft and swept it off to Mars. An extraterrestrial intervention is within the realm of probabilities. Not being a shoeless doctor my attempt to get in touch with the Martians may not succeed.

Another possibility to unfold the mystery of the missing aircraft was to contact Edward Snowden , the former United States National Security contractor who is at present living in exile in Russia. He is the person who knows how the listening and espionage networks operate. The USA apparently are able to monitor the telecommunications worldwide and it was announced only a few days ago that the only remaining Superpower can listen in on any conversation anywhere in the world. Is America not telling the world what it must know about the Malaysian plane?

If we had that technology In Mauritius we would have helped the Malaysian Prime Minister in directing him to where the aircraft was and is. But it is beyond doubt that no one listens in on our telephone or other such communications in this wonderfully pleasurable country. The little click that you hear when you receive a call on your mobile is just a technical glitch and not an indication that someone somewhere is listening to your conversation. The Americans are certainly listening but not our Security services.. We are clean in that field. There were days when telephone tapping was rampant and you will recall that tons of fi les were shredded at Line Barracks after the 1982 general elections. But since then we have not had any shredder in use. Grinders yes but not shredders!

But Big Brother is not dead. Inadvertent statements about what a man had asked his spouse to prepare for dinner was mentioned to him the same day. All the details were there. But the man did not give that a second thought as he thought that any thought of telephone tapping would be ludicrous. What he naively thought then was that this guy was endowed either with psychic or telepathic powers.

Rest assured that the authorities will never listen in on your conversations. The click you hear is not from here.
