|  Notre compatriote Ricardo Balancy, né à Maurice et installé en Australie depuis la fin de l’adolescence, sera candidat du Parti Libéral aux élections générales australiennes qui auront lieu le 21 août prochain.
M. Balancy, originaire de Beau-Bassin et issu d’une famille ayant de nombreux liens avec la vie politique à Maurice, sera candidat pour la circonscription de Holt. S’il était élu, il serait le premier Mauricien à siéger au Parlement fédéral australien, à Canberra. |

He is indeed the very embodiment of the many great things that the Mauritian diaspora can achieve abroad. Unfortunately, I shall, as well, express a great shame towards the values that Australians tend to breed in their own country, and especially Mr Tony Abott, leader of the Liberal Party. I shall not drag any longer on this matter: only to add that Mr Abott's policy on refugee boats is as inhumane and drastic as could have been the extermination of aboriginal people years back.
