THE LIMITS OF PEACEFUL RESISTANCE
Maybe it is because I have lived through one major Revolution and two major unrest/civil war (the Iranian Revolution and the South African unrest during the period 1991-1995, including the week of Chris Hani's assassination plus the civil war in Cote d'Ivoire). But I have long known, instinctively, where exactly the limits of peaceful resistance lies and the need for more pro-active action to stop the oppressors by any means - ANY MEANS, including violent counter-attack - begins. An opinion piece in Haaretz carries the sub-headline rhetorical question " Will the blood spilled on the flotilla's decks flush away the Goldstone report, or carry it to The Hague?". Mahmoud Abbas was stupidly naive to bend to US pressure to agree to a delay in the tabling, in front of the full Human Rights Council of the UN, of the Goldstone Report on the massacre in Gaza. Thank goodness, a subgroup of the Human Rights Council, among which Mauritius, insisted on the timely tabling of the Report. The enforcement of its recommendations has been delayed, mostly thanks to US complicity with Israel. But Judge Goldstone himself and many peace-loving Israeli activists have joined activists from the non-aligned movement and others, even from developed countries, to push for the implementation of the Goldstone recommendations. Until, the attack on the flotilla that has caused 19 deaths - NINETEEN - happened. Hence, the powerful rhetorical question formulated by the Haaretz correspondent.
PALESTINE V/S ISRAEL
ONE MUST TAKE NOTE OF AMERICA'S POOR RESPONSE TOWARDS THIS ACT OF STATE TERRORISM.HAVE THEY TAKEN THEIR CUE FROM TONY BLAIR?WILL TURKEY,SYRIA AND IRAN SHOW THE ARABS HOW TO DEAL WITH ISRAEL UPFRONT?INCIDENTALLY,THE PALESTINE/ISRAEL CONFLICT IS THE CONCERN OF EVERYONE IN MAURITIUS.AND NOT SOLELY THE INHABITANTS OF PLAINE VERTE OR SOME MUSLIM ORGANISATIONS! A DIATRIBE PERPETRATED BY RAMGOOLAM,BERENGER AND THE JUGNAUTHS!

israeli government is the most racist government known to humanity, they have a complete disregard for human life, complete disregard towards international law, disregard towards basic human rights, disregard towards united nations resolutions and on top of that they claim to be a 'democracy'.
is this the definition of democracy? killing of innocent children and women, imprisonment without trial, barricading and starving a whole population whose only fault was to cast their vote (they voted Hamas and it was one of 2 options they had) in a democratic election sponsored by the West? its time for the world to react, let's hope that this last episode is a turning point. boycott Israel. apartheid regime. These people are heartless criminals.
@MBCTV: Remember the Foreign Policy Record of 2000-2005
During the 2000-5 period when the MMM/MSM Government exercised power, Mauritius held a non-permanent seat on the UNSC. Mauritius voted with the African-country stooges of the imperialists (among whom Paul Biya's Cameron) on the issue of invasions of energy-resource rich Muslim countries, but then staged an extremely repulsive show of "coustiks" by recalling its ambassador to the UN and simulating a mix-up of signaling as the cause for the contemptible kowtowing to imperialst satanic designs. But, worse, I personally wrote to Berenger as Minister of Finance responsible for the AfDB to tell him about the dangers to the lives of Mauritians working at the AfDB as well as of other Mauritians in Cote d'Ivoire that the civil war in that country was exposing them to. Berenger had other designs. I wrote to Cassam Uteem to seek his intervention with Berenger.... I was NOT going to keep quiet: I am NOT such a person. I continued writing alarmed letters to Berenger and maybe even to Anerood Jugnauth, as several (well, a handful - five, six or seven) of my colleagues at the AfDB got killed or got shot but survived, as Gbagbo's murderous sodiers more than once aimed their bayoneted rifles at me, once almost ready to shoot when I hastily backed from my balcony into my bedrom and thus escaped being shot. They now pay for their misgovernance.
PALESTINE V/S ISRAEL
ISRAEL DOES NOT WANT PEACE AS PER INTERNATIONAL STANDARD.IT WANTS A 'PEACE'DESIGNED AND DEFINED BY ITSELF,WHICH WHEN TRANSLATED INTO DAY TO DAY REALITY,MEANS THE SUBJUGATION OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE.THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE ARE MUSLIMS,CHRISTIANS ANDE OF OTHER FAITHS.THE ROADMAP OF TWO COUNTRIES LIVING SIDE BY SIDE IS SIMPLY DEAD AND BURIED.THE AMMERICANS AS WELL AS TONY BLAIR KNOW IT.THE SOLUTION MAY WELL BE THE CREATION OF 'GREATER PALESTINE'WHICH WILL HARBOUR TWO STATES,NAMELY ISRAEL AND PALESTINE.BOTH THESE STATES WILL NEED TO CATER FOR EVERYONE LIVING IN GREATER PALESTINE.THEY MAY BOTH HAVE THEIR OWN BORDERS ,WITH IMMIGRATION CONTROL,WITHIN THE CONFINES OF GREATER PALESTINE.BOTH SHOULD BE DISARMED,WITH THE UN GUARANTEEING THEIR SECURITY.FOREIGN AID WILL BE DIRECTED TO GREATER PALESTINE ONLY.
@MBCTV: Thanks, but no, thanks!
MBCTV : We don't need the sympathy of ... sympathisers of Paul Berenger, Maurice Piat, Jocelin Gregoire, Philippe Forget and J-C. L'Estrac anywhere near us when we are reacting against Israel's barbarism. ... they try to get near us with the intention of stabbing us in the back...

@L'Express.mu: Fight Actual Crime
To L'Express and their legal advisers: It is actual crime, including the spreading of hatred, that should be fought by law-enforcement authorities.
NDLR: Just read your comment. You will find who mis spreadind hatred?
@Huakett
I seek to reason with people. But those who have never grown...
I seek to reason with people. But those who have never grown up respond to my admittedly high-powered reasoning with hatred disguised in irony. When their response is full of hatred hypocritically passing for sympathy with the oppressed in their distress, I don't recoil from answering in kind. Those who have cheated have to re-establish a reputation of trustworthiness before I re-engage with them. And, the rebuilding of a good reputation is a long, painful process. I have had the occasion to share with other Mauritians a quotable quote that I formulated myself while I was living the Revolution in Iran. It goes like this It is easier to destroy trust than to break up soap bubbles. It is harder to rebuild trust once it has been broken than to make soap bubbles out of dough. To see the truth of what I said consider the following three breaking-news events: (1) Japanese Prime Minister Hotoyamas resignation following his caving-in to pressure from Robert Gates to keep the American base in Okinawa, after he had earlier firmly signified his determination to Gates to honour his electoral promise to the Japanese people to close the base (2) the resignation of the German President after he affirmed, in a rather thoughtless interview to a German newspaper, that Germany has a right to engage alongside allies in wars in Central Asia for reasons of economic security, such as keeping trade routes open (this is against Germanys professed strictly pacific stand following its WWII experience (3) the stubborn refusal of China to issue an invitation to Robert Gates to visit China during his upcoming trip to East-Asia. Gates and the US Administration are stumped: it has never happened before that such a high-level US Official would beg BEG to be invited by any State to visit, and the request would be met with a refusal. Destroy trust, and you will learn how hard it is to win it back.
